{"id":65409,"date":"2025-05-07T11:44:30","date_gmt":"2025-05-07T11:44:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=65409"},"modified":"2025-05-07T11:47:43","modified_gmt":"2025-05-07T11:47:43","slug":"brace-up-abuja-diverts-traffic-for-major-bridge-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/05\/07\/brace-up-abuja-diverts-traffic-for-major-bridge-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Brace Up: Abuja Diverts Traffic for Major Bridge Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Adenike Lawal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A major traffic shake-up has hit Abuja as the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), begins the construction of a vital interchange bridge along the Inner Southern Expressway (ISEX), causing diversions in the city\u2019s Central Business District.<\/p>\n<p>The affected stretch spans from Herbert Macaulay Way, just past the Abuja International Conference Centre, to the National Defence College junction.<\/p>\n<p>Another hotspot is the intersection of Herbert Macaulay Way and Moshood Abiola Road.<\/p>\n<p>To allow for uninterrupted work, traffic is now rerouted through Zakaria Maimalari Street, cutting across the Abuja Environmental Protection Board\u2019s office area, between Chelsea Hotel and Access Bank, and then reconnecting with Moshood Abiola Road near the AICC.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the disruption, the FCDA has pledged continued access to all properties within the construction zone.<\/p>\n<p>To ease the transition and ensure order, officers from the DRTS, Police, and FRSC will be on ground.<\/p>\n<p>Engr. R.Y.
