Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has urged President Bola Tinubu and heads of security agencies to go beyond arresting financiers of insecurity and ensure their public prosecution to send a strong message and halt the cycle of violence.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with journalists on Sunday in Osogbo, Oyintiloye described the recent deadly attacks in Benue and Plateau states as heartbreaking and unacceptable, calling for a more aggressive and transparent crackdown on those fueling insecurity across the country.<\/p>\n<p>He stressed that merely apprehending individuals sponsoring insurgents and bandits is insufficient unless backed by public trials and deep institutional reforms.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As long as bandits still have access to food, weapons, operational vehicles, and drugs, the fight against them will remain tough,&#8221; he said. &#8220;The real game-changer lies in exposing and prosecuting their sponsors openly.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Oyintiloye, a former member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, insisted that criminal networks thrive on hidden support systems.<\/p>\n<p>He challenged security agencies to go after those supplying arms, drugs, and logistics, stressing the need to strengthen intelligence gathering, enforce anti-corruption measures, and seek global cooperation to dismantle the financial lifelines of terror groups.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The security agencies are doing their best, and their efforts are commendable, but there is still more to be done in unmasking the masterminds behind this evil,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>He also condemned those politicizing the country\u2019s insecurity, insisting that such actions only embolden criminals and undermine the sacrifices of the nation\u2019s security forces.<\/p>\n<p>Oyintiloye further appealed to the president to reform the country\u2019s weak institutional framework, blaming it for rising poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, poor policing, and a fragile justice system\u2014all factors he said fuel insecurity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cArresting sponsors of insurgency without strengthening the criminal justice system and prosecuting them publicly will not yield lasting results,\u201d he cautioned.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the current challenges, Oyintiloye expressed hope that with renewed strategies and strong leadership, Nigeria will triumph over its security threats.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Gbenga Adeniyi A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Hon.
