{"id":65120,"date":"2025-04-30T13:30:14","date_gmt":"2025-04-30T13:30:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=65120"},"modified":"2025-04-30T13:30:14","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T13:30:14","slug":"court-convicts-blogger-over-false-claims-against-mfm-founder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/04\/30\/court-convicts-blogger-over-false-claims-against-mfm-founder\/","title":{"rendered":"Court Convicts Blogger Over False Claims Against MFM Founder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Adenike Lawal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A Federal High Court in Lagos has convicted blogger Adewale Ajimisogbe for cyberbullying and defaming Dr. Daniel Olukoya, General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Ambrose Lewis Allagoa delivered the verdict after Ajimisogbe entered a plea bargain with the police, admitting to publishing false and damaging content online.<\/p>\n<p>The blogger had used his platform, Postreporters, to spread libellous claims against Dr. Olukoya between December 2023 and February 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Initially charged alongside ex-MFM member Ayotunde Richards on 12 counts including conspiracy and cyberstalking, Ajimisogbe faced nine extra charges of libel.<\/p>\n<p>One publication accused Dr. Olukoya of being behind illegal acts and demanded over fifteen billion naira in damages.<\/p>\n<p>Under the Cybercrimes Act, his actions were deemed criminal.
