{"id":64981,"date":"2025-04-28T11:33:10","date_gmt":"2025-04-28T11:33:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=64981"},"modified":"2025-04-28T11:33:10","modified_gmt":"2025-04-28T11:33:10","slug":"woman-attacks-ex-husbands-fiancee-with-hot-water","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/04\/28\/woman-attacks-ex-husbands-fiancee-with-hot-water\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman Attacks Ex-Husband\u2019s Fianc\u00e9e with Hot Water"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Patrick Idowu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A 33 year old woman, Salamatu, has allegedly scalded her ex husband\u2019s fianc\u00e9e with hot water in Adamawa, leaving her with serious injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Witnesses said Salamatu struck out of jealousy after learning that her former husband was planning to remarry.<\/p>\n<p>Safiya, a close friend of the victim, recounted that they had been together earlier that day before her friend went to visit her fianc\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The next morning I received a call that she had been attacked with hot water,&#8221; Safiya said.<\/p>\n<p>Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said the assault happened in the Jambutu area of Yola, months ahead of the planned wedding.<\/p>\n<p>He said police are investigating and have already taken two suspects into custody.<\/p>\n<p>The victim\u2019s fianc\u00e9, 42 year old Yusuf, said he had briefly stepped out to charge his fianc\u00e9e\u2019s phone when the attack occurred.<\/p>\n<p>One of the suspects, 23 year old Fatima Abubakar, a neighbour, denied any involvement.<\/p>\n<p>She told the police she only helped the injured woman get to the police station after the attack and was not part of the assault.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Patrick Idowu A 33 year old woman, Salamatu, has allegedly scalded her ex husband\u2019s fianc\u00e9e with hot water in Adamawa, leaving her with serious injuries.
