{"id":64501,"date":"2025-04-21T05:05:40","date_gmt":"2025-04-21T05:05:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=64501"},"modified":"2025-04-21T05:05:40","modified_gmt":"2025-04-21T05:05:40","slug":"csos-applaud-tinubu-security-chiefs-over-progress-in-security-fight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/04\/21\/csos-applaud-tinubu-security-chiefs-over-progress-in-security-fight\/","title":{"rendered":"CSOs Applaud Tinubu, Security Chiefs Over Progress in Security Fight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Ade Iyamoye\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A coalition of 774 Civil Society Organisations has commended President Bola Tinubu, the Minister of Defence, the National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and the nation\u2019s security forces for what it described as \u201cremarkable progress\u201d in the fight against insecurity across Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement released Friday, the coalition\u2019s publicity secretary, Michael Chukwuma, claimed that violent crimes and unrest have dropped by ninety percent since the Tinubu administration took charge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn just two years, this government has accomplished what previous administrations failed to do in decades,\u201d Chukwuma stated, highlighting restored peace in hotspots such as Kaduna and the Northeast, where farmers now cultivate freely, travellers move without fear, and communities have regained confidence.<\/p>\n<p>He listed the elimination of several notorious bandit commanders and their fighters as a major achievement, naming Halilu Sububu, Ali Kawajo, Dangote Kachallah, Mino Kachallah, and others among those neutralised by security operatives.<\/p>\n<p>He praised the security forces as \u201cpatriots who forgo sleep so we may rest in peace,\u201d and accused critics of undermining national progress for selfish reasons, questioning their silence during previous administrations when insecurity reached alarming heights.<\/p>\n<p>Chukwuma called on all Nigerians to support the government\u2019s efforts, stating that \u201cevery citizen has a role to play\u201d in sustaining peace.<\/p>\n<p>He urged people to report suspicious activities and foster unity across all divides.<\/p>\n<p>He also appealed to state governors to focus on the welfare of their citizens, especially in troubled areas like Zamfara, where poverty and insecurity still linger.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTogether, we can ensure every road is safe, every farm thrives, and every child dreams without fear,\u201d he said, reaffirming the coalition\u2019s support for the government\u2019s ongoing security reforms.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Ade Iyamoye\u00a0 A coalition of 774 Civil Society Organisations has commended President Bola Tinubu, the Minister of Defence, the National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and the nation\u2019s security forces for what it described as \u201cremarkable progress\u201d in the fight against insecurity across Nigeria.
