{"id":64403,"date":"2025-04-17T12:01:37","date_gmt":"2025-04-17T12:01:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=64403"},"modified":"2025-04-17T12:01:37","modified_gmt":"2025-04-17T12:01:37","slug":"oil-bunker-busted-as-nscdc-strikes-in-abuja","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/04\/17\/oil-bunker-busted-as-nscdc-strikes-in-abuja\/","title":{"rendered":"Oil Bunker Busted as NSCDC Strikes in Abuja"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Patrick Idowu\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has smashed an underground oil operation in Abuja, uncovering seven illegal oil dumps and arresting seven suspects in a sweeping raid across Jahi and Katampe districts.<\/p>\n<p>The operation, executed by the CG Special Intelligence Squad, followed a tip-off and was personally ordered by NSCDC Commandant General Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, as part of a nationwide crackdown on oil theft.<\/p>\n<p>National Public Relations Officer, CSC Afolabi Babawale, revealed that the operation yielded a cache of illegally stored diesel and equipment used in refining and distribution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe received credible intelligence and moved in swiftly,\u201d said CG SIS Commander, AS Dandaura. \u201cFive illegal dumps were discovered immediately during our first strike.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The arrested suspects include Akande Olusola, Anas Usman, Jonathan Onekutu, Uchenna Kelechi, Chukwuma Solomon, Monday Israel, and a man identified only as Bello.<\/p>\n<p>Among the exhibits recovered were more than a dozen trucks, cars, tankers, over 20 surface tanks filled with suspected diesel, peddler tankers without heads, counting machines, pumping equipment, containers, and a Mikano generator.<\/p>\n<p>Dandaura confirmed that prosecution will follow due process and serve as a strong warning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are committed to dismantling these criminal networks and restoring order,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects will be charged in court after full investigation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Patrick Idowu\u00a0 The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has smashed an underground oil operation in Abuja, uncovering seven illegal oil dumps and arresting seven suspects in a sweeping raid across Jahi and Katampe districts.
