{"id":64315,"date":"2025-04-15T14:15:37","date_gmt":"2025-04-15T14:15:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=64315"},"modified":"2025-04-15T14:15:37","modified_gmt":"2025-04-15T14:15:37","slug":"keep-off-our-camp-coach-zubairu-tells-agents-influencers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/04\/15\/keep-off-our-camp-coach-zubairu-tells-agents-influencers\/","title":{"rendered":"Keep Off Our Camp, Coach Zubairu Tells Agents, Influencers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>By Njoku Chijioke<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Nigeria&#8217;s Under 20 national team coach, Aliyu Zubairu, has issued a firm warning to football agents and wealthy influencers, urging them to stay away from the Flying Eagles training camp in Katsina State.<\/p>\n<p>With preparations in full swing for the 2025 TotalEnergies Under 20 Africa Cup of Nations in C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, the coach said his priority is building a focused and distraction-free squad.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe do not want interference,\u201d Zubairu said pointedly, stressing that agents and moneybags have no business within the team\u2019s current setup.<\/p>\n<p>To ensure total concentration, the coach has reportedly disconnected his regular phone lines, relying instead on a private number to avoid undue pressure and unsolicited calls.<\/p>\n<p>Zubairu\u2019s bold stance comes as the team settles into its camp in Katsina, a location endorsed by the Nigeria Football Federation and fully sponsored by the Katsina State Government.<\/p>\n<p>The camp offers a calm atmosphere, which the coach believes is ideal for serious work ahead of the continental competition.<\/p>\n<p>The Flying Eagles have been drawn in Group B, where they will face Tunisia, Kenya and Morocco in what promises to be a highly competitive campaign.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are focused on one goal \u2014 winning. Any form of distraction will be counterproductive.
