Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder are set to showcase their skills in a thrilling night of heavyweight boxing in Saudi Arabia on December 23.<\/p>\n

At 34, Joshua will be aiming for his third victory of the year as he faces 32-year-old Swedish boxer Otto Wallin, who experienced his sole professional defeat against Tyson Fury in 2019.<\/p>\n

AJ said: “I said at the start of this year that my plan was to begin my journey of activity. Three fights in 12 months, two victories and one pending.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“I am grateful to his Excellency Turki Alalshikh for the opportunity to fulfil my plan. I am fully focused on December 23 and finishing the year in good fashion. “Even on a bad day, I’ll smoke him [Wallin].”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“I believe I will be three-time heavyweight champion of the world. I’m determined to win and I’m determined to get back to my peak, if that’s what they want to call it.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, the knockout specialist Wilder, aged 38, will make his comeback after more than a year of inactivity, taking on New Zealand’s Joseph Parker in a star-studded event featuring well-known names.<\/p>\n

Originally slated for a pre-Christmas showdown, the date was initially reserved for the highly anticipated face-off between Fury and Usyk. However, the bout is now anticipated to occur in February.<\/p>\n

Recent reports indicate that should both Joshua and Wilder emerge victorious from their respective contests without injury, there’s a possibility they could share the undercard with the WBC champion in his clash against unified title-holder Usyk.<\/p>\n

Also featured in the Riyadh event is Daniel Dubois, seeking redemption from his summer loss to Usyk, as he goes head-to-head with the undefeated American Jarrell Miller.<\/p>\n

Miller, 35, was initially slated for a world title bout with Joshua in 2019 but was withdrawn after testing positive for prohibited substances.<\/p>\n

Beyond the heavyweight division, Russian sensation Dmitry Bivol, who made headlines by defeating Saul Alvarez in May 2022, will defend his WBA world light-heavyweight title against Manchester’s Lyndon Arthur.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
