In a landmark move aimed at accelerating Nigeria\u2019s transition to cleaner energy and sustainable transportation, the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGi) has officially transferred a fleet of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), buses to the Office of the Accountant General (AG), of the Federation.<\/p>\n
At the handover ceremony, the Accountant General, Mr. Shamseldeen Ogunjimi, commended the initiative, describing it as a visionary step in Nigeria\u2019s ongoing quest for energy efficiency and environmental stewardship.<\/p>\n
He praised the PCNGi for its commitment to reducing carbon emissions while enhancing public transport options for Nigerians.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a significant stride towards achieving a greener, more sustainable future for our nation,\u201d Ogunjimi stated, adding that \u201cIt not only aligns with our energy transition agenda but also signals a future where clean energy solutions become mainstream in our public service operations.\u201d<\/p>\n
The move is part of a broader federal push to embrace alternative energy sources, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and promote economic resilience through green initiatives.<\/p>\n
It also underscores the government\u2019s resolve to integrate environmentally friendly solutions into critical sectors, including transportation.<\/p>\n
