The illicit drugs were cleverly concealed within the walls of their suitcases.<\/p>\n<p>Despite claiming they were travelling for medical treatment, NDLEA&#8217;s Special Operations Unit, acting on precise intelligence, intercepted the duo before departure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe operation was the result of credible intelligence and swift action,\u201d said NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, in a statement released on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>In a related bust the same day, a 20-year-old Ghanaian-British student, Parker Darren Hazekia Osei, was apprehended at the airport\u2019s E-arrival hall.<\/p>\n<p>The East London University undergraduate, arriving from Bangkok on an Ethiopian Airlines flight, was caught with 36 parcels of Loud, a high-grade cannabis strain, weighing 19.4 kilograms.<\/p>\n<p>He confessed to picking up the consignment in Thailand for delivery in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>The agency&#8217;s clampdown stretched beyond Lagos. In Kogi State, 33-year-old Ngozi Ogili was arrested while transporting three kilograms of methamphetamine from Lagos to Abuja in a commercial bus.<\/p>\n<p>A follow-up operation at her drop-off point in Abuja\u2019s Apo mechanic area led to the seizure of additional stashes of Loud and Colorado, synthetic cannabis strains notorious for their potency.<\/p>\n<p>The heat intensified in Abia State, where a 75-year-old grandfather, Nna Nnanna Felix, was nabbed in Ukwa West with 1.6 kilograms of skunk, a dangerous cannabis variant.
