Wozniacki said she would first play at the Canadian Open in Montreal in August \u201cto get back into the groove\u201d before targeting the U.S. Open while her long-term goal is the 2024 Olympics in Paris.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter that, I\u2019ll have a couple of months to prepare for Australia and we\u2019ll take it from there. The Paris Olympics are definitely a goal too,\u201d Wozniacki added.<\/p>\n
The Dane, who turns 33\u00a0 in July, said she was inspired by 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams after the American returned to the sport following the birth of her daughter Olympia.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think that Serena doesn\u2019t get nearly enough credit for getting to so many Grand Slam finals after having Olympia,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cHer retirement will always be bittersweet, both for me and for so many other players, because she\u2019s meant so much to women\u2019s tennis.<\/p>\n
