{"id":63555,"date":"2025-03-30T18:52:35","date_gmt":"2025-03-30T18:52:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=63555"},"modified":"2025-03-30T18:52:35","modified_gmt":"2025-03-30T18:52:35","slug":"ndlea-busts-drug-rings-nabs-lagos-italy-traffickers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/03\/30\/ndlea-busts-drug-rings-nabs-lagos-italy-traffickers\/","title":{"rendered":"NDLEA Busts Drug Rings, Nabs Lagos, Italy Traffickers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Our Correspondent\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has intensified its fight against drug trafficking with major arrests across Nigeria, including a Lagos-based businessman and an Italy-bound logistics agent caught in separate smuggling operations.<\/p>\n<p>In Lagos, operatives apprehended Arokodare Damil Ebenezer, owner of Damillionz Takeout, in connection with a shipment of 60 parcels of Loud, a potent strain of cannabis, from the United States.<\/p>\n<p>He was arrested at Bay Lounge, Lekki, while awaiting delivery of the drugs.<\/p>\n<p>A search of his home uncovered more cannabis, bringing the total seizure to 32.24 kilograms.<\/p>\n<p>During interrogation, he reportedly admitted to trafficking drugs since 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, NDLEA officers intercepted Omoruyi Terry, a businessman attempting to smuggle 1,400 Tramadol pills to Italy.<\/p>\n<p>He was stopped at the screening point of Terminal 2 before boarding a Qatar Airways flight.<\/p>\n<p>The agency also carried out sweeping operations in Katsina, Edo, Niger, Enugu, and Oyo states, seizing large quantities of illicit drugs, destroying cannabis farms, and dismantling trafficking networks.<\/p>\n<p>NDLEA Chairman, Brigadier-General Mohamed Marwa, praised the officers for their efforts, reaffirming the agency\u2019s commitment to a drug-free society.<\/p>\n<p>The agency is also intensifying its anti-drug campaign across schools, workplaces, and communities nationwide.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Our Correspondent\u00a0 The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has intensified its fight against drug trafficking with major arrests across Nigeria, including a Lagos-based businessman and an Italy-bound logistics agent caught in separate smuggling operations.
