{"id":63546,"date":"2025-03-30T18:29:26","date_gmt":"2025-03-30T18:29:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=63546"},"modified":"2025-03-30T18:29:26","modified_gmt":"2025-03-30T18:29:26","slug":"sallah-message-amac-chairman-calls-for-peace-unity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/03\/30\/sallah-message-amac-chairman-calls-for-peace-unity\/","title":{"rendered":"Sallah Message: AMAC Chairman Calls for Peace, Unity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Our Correspondent<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Chairman, Honorable Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has called on Nigerians to embrace peace, unity, and love as Muslim faithful mark this year\u2019s Sallah celebration.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in Abuja while receiving well-wishers at his residence, Maikalangu congratulated Muslims on the completion of Ramadan, describing the fasting period as a time of deep reflection, faith, and responsibility toward one another and Allah.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRamadan is the month in which Muslims believe the Qur\u2019an was revealed to Prophet Mohammed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This season reminds us of our shared humanity and strengthens our collective efforts toward a united Nigeria,\u201d Maikalangu stated.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized the common values between Islam and Christianity, particularly fasting, which he described as a spiritual exercise that draws people closer to God.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a time to remember that the world we want to build and the changes we seek must begin in our hearts and communities,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The AMAC Chairman reaffirmed his commitment to promoting peace and good governance, urging residents to uphold unity as a foundation for national development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the spirit of Sallah, I encourage all citizens and residents of AMAC to embrace peace, love, and unity. These are vital for our progress as a people,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Maikalangu also called on Nigerians to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to succeed in delivering the dividends of democracy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe all have a role in building a more peaceful and secure Nigeria.
