{"id":63347,"date":"2025-03-26T13:51:20","date_gmt":"2025-03-26T13:51:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=63347"},"modified":"2025-03-26T13:51:20","modified_gmt":"2025-03-26T13:51:20","slug":"nalda-unveils-plans-to-cut-food-prices-boost-farming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/03\/26\/nalda-unveils-plans-to-cut-food-prices-boost-farming\/","title":{"rendered":"NALDA Unveils Plans to Cut Food Prices, Boost Farming"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Ifeoluwa Odunayo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The National Agricultural Land Development Authority has launched new initiatives aimed at reducing food prices, supporting farmers, and increasing food production across Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in Abuja, NALDA boss Cornelius Adebayo unveiled the projects named Renewed Hope Mega Farms, Green Hope, and Aqua Hope, which are designed to address farmers\u2019 challenges and enhance productivity.<\/p>\n<p>The initiatives will cluster farmers, provide security, supply inputs, introduce mechanization, and tackle the farmers and herders crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Fish farming will be expanded in riverine areas, while greenhouses will be deployed for vegetable production in Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, and the Federal Capital Territory.<\/p>\n<p>Adebayo emphasized that NALDA\u2019s role is to create an enabling environment rather than engage in direct farming, adding that agriculture must be viewed as a business.<\/p>\n<p>He also assured that private investors would receive necessary support to minimize risks and strengthen the sector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Ifeoluwa Odunayo The National Agricultural Land Development Authority has launched new initiatives aimed at reducing food prices, supporting farmers, and increasing food production across Nigeria.
