{"id":63203,"date":"2025-03-23T12:54:30","date_gmt":"2025-03-23T12:54:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=63203"},"modified":"2025-03-24T01:29:37","modified_gmt":"2025-03-24T01:29:37","slug":"63203","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/03\/23\/63203\/","title":{"rendered":"Abuja: Kidnapped Naval Officer, Sister Regain Freedom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Emmanuel Ogbodo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Navy Lieutenant Cynthia Akor and her sister, who were abducted in Abuja, have regained their freedom following a coordinated security operation.<\/p>\n<p>The siblings were rescued around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday in the Karu area of Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>Their release was secured through joint efforts by the Guards Brigade, Naval Unit Abuja, Federal Capital Territory Police Command, and the Office of the National Security Adviser.<\/p>\n<p>Akor, who serves at the Defence Headquarters, and her sister were kidnapped on Friday night in Mpape, a suburb of Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>The abductors initially demanded N100 million but received N4 million from the victims&#8217; family before security forces closed in.<\/p>\n<p>As the security team advanced, the kidnappers abandoned the victims in Karu, leaving behind some cash, clothing, and personal belongings.<\/p>\n<p>Security operatives have arrested several relatives of the suspects, including a mother, sister, father, and wife, who are reportedly assisting with the investigation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Emmanuel Ogbodo Navy Lieutenant Cynthia Akor and her sister, who were abducted in Abuja, have regained their freedom following a coordinated security operation.
