The National Automotive Design and Development Council has launched a training programme in collaboration with OMAA Motors to equip 60 technicians with skills to convert petrol vehicles to compressed natural gas-powered vehicles.<\/p>\n
The programme, which commenced in Owerri on March 18, will run until March 21, aiming to boost Nigeria\u2019s transition to cleaner energy.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, NADDC Director General Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin stressed the need for a skilled workforce to attract investors and expand CNG infrastructure nationwide.<\/p>\n
He also highlighted the recent launch of a Mobile Refill Unit in Lagos, set for nationwide deployment to support the growing fleet of converted vehicles.<\/p>\n
Osanipin encouraged trainees to obtain conversion certificates to kickstart their careers as certified technicians.<\/p>\n
He added that NADDC is working with gas providers to establish CNG fueling stations for sustainability.<\/p>\n
Representing Governor Hope Uzodinma, Commissioner for Youth Dr Emeka Mandela commended NADDC\u2019s foresight and pledged state support.<\/p>\n
He also announced that the government would fund licenses for four trainees and empower more youth in the future.<\/p>\n
