{"id":63136,"date":"2025-03-21T12:18:34","date_gmt":"2025-03-21T12:18:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=63136"},"modified":"2025-03-22T04:35:01","modified_gmt":"2025-03-22T04:35:01","slug":"naddc-trains-60-technicians-in-cng-conversion-in-imo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/03\/21\/naddc-trains-60-technicians-in-cng-conversion-in-imo\/","title":{"rendered":"CNG Gains as 60 Technicians Receive Conversion Training in Imo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>By Patrick Idowu<\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The National Automotive Design and Development Council has launched a training programme in collaboration with OMAA Motors to equip 60 technicians with skills to convert petrol vehicles to compressed natural gas-powered vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>The programme, which commenced in Owerri on March 18, will run until March 21, aiming to boost Nigeria\u2019s transition to cleaner energy.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, NADDC Director General Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin stressed the need for a skilled workforce to attract investors and expand CNG infrastructure nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>He also highlighted the recent launch of a Mobile Refill Unit in Lagos, set for nationwide deployment to support the growing fleet of converted vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Osanipin encouraged trainees to obtain conversion certificates to kickstart their careers as certified technicians.<\/p>\n<p>He added that NADDC is working with gas providers to establish CNG fueling stations for sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>Representing Governor Hope Uzodinma, Commissioner for Youth Dr Emeka Mandela commended NADDC\u2019s foresight and pledged state support.<\/p>\n<p>He also announced that the government would fund licenses for four trainees and empower more youth in the future.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Patrick Idowu The National Automotive Design and Development Council has launched a training programme in collaboration with OMAA Motors to equip 60 technicians with skills to convert petrol vehicles to compressed natural gas-powered vehicles.
