{"id":62660,"date":"2025-03-12T13:51:41","date_gmt":"2025-03-12T13:51:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=62660"},"modified":"2025-03-12T13:51:41","modified_gmt":"2025-03-12T13:51:41","slug":"efcc-busts-alleged-ponzi-scheme-arrests-28-in-minna","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/03\/12\/efcc-busts-alleged-ponzi-scheme-arrests-28-in-minna\/","title":{"rendered":"EFCC Busts Alleged Ponzi Scheme, Arrests 28 in Minna"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Patrick Idowu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), have arrested 28 suspects in Minna, Niger State, over an alleged Ponzi scheme disguised as network marketing.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects, linked to Q-Net Ltd, were apprehended at a three-bedroom apartment in Al-Bishiri Estate following credible intelligence on fraudulent investment activities.<\/p>\n<p>Victims were reportedly deceived into believing the company had international affiliations in Dubai, India, Indonesia, and Thailand, and were coerced into paying between $790 and $850 (about \u20a61.46 million) for registration and product purchases.<\/p>\n<p>Some suspects were caught mid-lecture on Ponzi operations, dressed as \u201cnetwork marketers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>EFCC recovered Q-Net application forms and other incriminating documents.
