Campaigners are demanding swift hearings to prevent unjust repatriations.<\/p>\n<p>Peters Omoragbon, President of the Diaspora Nurses Association of Nigeria, accused the NMC of deliberately stalling appeals to facilitate deportations. \u201cThey want to avoid legal battles,\u201d he told Nursing Times.<\/p>\n<p>The controversy stems from a probe into Yunnik Technologies Test Centre, where nearly 2,000 nurses were implicated in alleged proxy testing.<\/p>\n<p>So far, 10 nurses have been removed from the NMC register, while 191 applicants were denied registration due to &#8220;character concerns.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>With legal action mounting against the NMC and the Home Office, affected nurses demand a reassessment of their cases and an end to visa cancellations before their appeals are heard.<\/p>\n<p>As investigations continue, uncertainty grows over the fate of these healthcare professionals, many of whom have already lost their jobs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Adenike Lawal Dozens of Nigerian nurses in the UK face imminent deportation following fraud allegations linked to a testing center in Ibadan, despite ongoing appeals challenging their visa revocations.
