{"id":62294,"date":"2025-03-07T15:14:09","date_gmt":"2025-03-07T15:14:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=62294"},"modified":"2025-03-07T15:14:09","modified_gmt":"2025-03-07T15:14:09","slug":"plateau-targets-n52bn-revenue-in-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/03\/07\/plateau-targets-n52bn-revenue-in-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Plateau Targets N52bn Revenue in 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Abaire Olanlesi<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Plateau State has set a N52 billion internal revenue target for the 2025 fiscal year, following a surge in collections under the current administration.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman of the Plateau State Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Dr. Jim Pam Wayas, announced on Friday that the state&#8217;s revenue grew from N3.9 billion in 2022 to N31.4 billion by the end of 2024, surpassing the N30 billion mark for the first time.<\/p>\n<p>In January 2025 alone, the IRS collected a record N3.3 billion, more than double the N1.6 billion recorded in January 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Wayas outlined plans to expand the tax net, improve administration, and enhance collection mechanisms to meet the new target.<\/p>\n<p>He acknowledged that declining federal allocations due to foreign debt pose a challenge but urged citizens to support the state&#8217;s revenue drive, promising transparency and accountability in fund management.<\/p>\n<p>Wayas expressed confidence that with greater cooperation, Plateau could surpass its N52 billion goal and effectively fund development projects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Abaire Olanlesi Plateau State has set a N52 billion internal revenue target for the 2025 fiscal year, following a surge in collections under the current administration.
