{"id":62288,"date":"2025-03-07T15:09:42","date_gmt":"2025-03-07T15:09:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=62288"},"modified":"2025-03-07T15:09:42","modified_gmt":"2025-03-07T15:09:42","slug":"naf-vows-to-punish-officers-over-ikedc-invasion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/03\/07\/naf-vows-to-punish-officers-over-ikedc-invasion\/","title":{"rendered":"NAF Vows to Punish Officers Over IKEDC Invasion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Patrick Idowu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has pledged to investigate and sanction officers involved in the invasion of the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) over a power disconnection at the Sam Ethnan Air Force Base in Ikeja, Lagos.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, air force personnel stormed IKEDC\u2019s headquarters, allegedly vandalizing property, assaulting staff, and seizing company assets.<\/p>\n<p>At a press briefing, Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Logistics Command, Adeniran Ademuwagun, condemned the attack, describing it as \u201cunfortunate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He assured that offenders would face disciplinary action, reaffirming the NAF\u2019s commitment to professionalism and public safety.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We will investigate this incident thoroughly and ensure appropriate sanctions. The Nigerian Air Force upholds discipline, and Ikeja Electric should operate without fear of interference,&#8221; Ademuwagun stated.<\/p>\n<p>He also apologized to IKEDC\u2019s management, assuring that measures were being taken to prevent a recurrence.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, IKEDC Chairman, Kola Adesina, revealed that at least 10 staff members were injured, with company property vandalized or taken away.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Over 200 employees were on-site during the attack. Reports confirm that 10 staff members were assaulted, and several assets were destroyed or looted.
