Nigeria\u2019s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has spoken out on the Senate controversy, urging lawmakers to uphold the honour and dignity of the chamber.<\/p>\n
Addressing journalists ahead of International Women\u2019s Day, Tinubu refused to take sides in the heated dispute involving Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (Kogi Central), who accused Akpabio of sexual harassment.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Senate is a place of maturity and respect. It should not be reduced to a battlefield,\u201d she said, recalling her time as a senator.<\/p>\n
The controversy erupted on February 20 when Akpoti-Uduaghan clashed with Akpabio over seating arrangements, later alleging she faced intimidation for rejecting his alleged advances.<\/p>\n
However, the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges dismissed her petition, citing procedural gaps.<\/p>\n
Tinubu\u2019s remarks come amid growing public scrutiny, as Nigerians debate the unfolding power struggle within the upper legislative chamber.<\/p>\n
