{"id":61965,"date":"2025-03-02T04:19:41","date_gmt":"2025-03-02T04:19:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=61965"},"modified":"2025-03-02T04:19:41","modified_gmt":"2025-03-02T04:19:41","slug":"akwa-ibom-women-to-natasha-stop-disrespecting-our-son","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/03\/02\/akwa-ibom-women-to-natasha-stop-disrespecting-our-son\/","title":{"rendered":"Akwa Ibom Women to Natasha: Stop Disrespecting Our Son"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>By Ade Iyamoye\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hundreds of Akwa Ibom women took to the streets of Uyo on Saturday, protesting against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan&#8217;s sexual harassment allegations against their son and Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.<\/p>\n<p>The women, carrying placards with messages such as &#8220;Number 3 man deserves respect&#8221; and &#8220;Respect for husbands is our tradition, Natasha&#8221;, dismissed the allegations as unfounded and a deliberate attempt to tarnish Akpabio&#8217;s image.<\/p>\n<p>They demanded an immediate apology from the Kogi Central senator or risk their wrath.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the protest, Grace Mathias, a native of Essien Udim, declared that Akwa Ibom women would not tolerate any disrespect towards their son.<\/p>\n<p>She warned Natasha to stop embarrassing Akpabio, insisting that he is a well-trained and God-fearing leader.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If Natasha continues this, we will go down on our knees and pray, and Heaven will rise against her,&#8221; Mathias stated, vowing that any plot against Akpabio would fail.<\/p>\n<p>The protest follows Akpoti-Uduaghan\u2019s claim on Arise TV, where she alleged that Akpabio victimized her in the Senate after she rejected his advances.<\/p>\n<p>However, Akwa Ibom women insist their son deserves respect, not public humiliation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Ade Iyamoye\u00a0 Hundreds of Akwa Ibom women took to the streets of Uyo on Saturday, protesting against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan&#8217;s sexual harassment allegations against their son and Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
