{"id":61858,"date":"2025-02-28T01:45:21","date_gmt":"2025-02-28T01:45:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=61858"},"modified":"2025-02-28T01:45:21","modified_gmt":"2025-02-28T01:45:21","slug":"police-rescue-kidnap-victims-neutralize-gunmen-in-abuja-raid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/02\/28\/police-rescue-kidnap-victims-neutralize-gunmen-in-abuja-raid\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Rescue Kidnap Victims, Neutralize Gunmen in Abuja Raid"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Ade Iyamoye<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Police Command has successfully rescued several kidnapped victims and neutralized multiple gunmen following a violent abduction incident in the Guzape-Abacha area of Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>Security expert Zagazola Makama revealed on Thursday, February 27, that armed assailants stormed the community on Tuesday, February 25, abducting several residents and abandoning two vehicles at the crime scene.<\/p>\n<p>In a swift and coordinated response, the police launched an intense operation, engaging the kidnappers in a fierce gun battle that left many of them wounded and forced to flee.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the abducted victims have since been freed.<\/p>\n<p>Among those rescued is a lawmaker, Shagala Samuel, who was found in Yelwa Forest, near Gbagalape village in the Nyanya Mine area of Nasarawa State.<\/p>\n<p>Another victim, Nsiyan Eyang, who was abducted near the Nyanya hills on Sunday, February 23, was safely recovered on Wednesday, February 26, around 8:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The FCT Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, assured residents that security forces are in pursuit of the fleeing kidnappers, with the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) taking over the case.<\/p>\n<p>He urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement for immediate action.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Ade Iyamoye The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Police Command has successfully rescued several kidnapped victims and neutralized multiple gunmen following a violent abduction incident in the Guzape-Abacha area of Abuja.
