David Umahi, announced the development during a stakeholder meeting on the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project.<\/p>\n<p>The new system, modeled after the Second Niger Bridge surveillance setup, allows real-time monitoring to enforce traffic regulations and improve safety.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve extended rehabilitation works from the bridge to Falomo, installed streetlights, and deployed CCTV cameras. Whatever happens there, we\u2019re watching from Abuja,\u201d Umahi stated.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative comes amid rising concerns over reckless driving on the newly rehabilitated bridge.<\/p>\n<p>While speed bumps were considered, Umahi noted they could worsen traffic congestion.
