{"id":61657,"date":"2025-02-21T18:18:25","date_gmt":"2025-02-21T18:18:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=61657"},"modified":"2025-02-21T18:20:10","modified_gmt":"2025-02-21T18:20:10","slug":"archbishop-kaigama-to-ksji-be-observant-fight-catholic-churchs-enemy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/02\/21\/archbishop-kaigama-to-ksji-be-observant-fight-catholic-churchs-enemy\/","title":{"rendered":"Archbishop Kaigama to KSJI: Be Observant, Fight Catholic Church\u2019s Enemy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Ade Iyamoye\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama of Abuja has urged members of the Knights of St. John International (KSJI), to remain vigilant and defend the Catholic Church against any form of opposition.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during the Exemplification of Noble Degree and conficonferment on Brothers of KSJI Nigeria, Noble Temple #4 in Abuja, Archbishop Kaigama called on the knights to be spiritually alert and proactive in combating forces that seek to undermine the Church\u2019s mission and values.<\/p>\n<p>It is worthy to note that &#8216;Noble Degree&#8217; is the highest honor within the Knights of St. John International (KSJI).<\/p>\n<p>Kaigama charged that \u201cThe enemy of the Catholic Church is always on the move, and as knights, you must be observant, disciplined, and ready to defend the faith,\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He stressed that true commitment to the knighthood demands not only ceremonial appearances but also active participation in safeguarding the Church\u2019s integrity.<\/p>\n<p>Quoting 1 Peter 5:8: \u201cBe sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour,\u201d the Archbishop reminded the knights of their duty to uphold holiness and remain steadfast in their spiritual journey.<\/p>\n<p>Kaigama also emphasized the importance of humility and faithfulness, encouraging the newly decorated knights to serve with devotion, compassion, and a deep sense of responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not just a title\u2014it\u2019s a call to action,\u201d he said. \u201cAs true knights, your mission is to reflect Christ\u2019s values in your actions, defend the Church\u2019s teachings, and stand firm in the face of challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Archbishop Kaigama, officiating the noble degree decorations for the first time, prayed for the courage and strength of all members, urging them to serve both God and humanity with unwavering commitment.<\/p>\n<p>On his part, the Supreme Subordinate President, Maj. Gen. Remy Uche, charged on members of the Order to embrace lives of communion, sacrifice, and service to God and humanity.<\/p>\n<p>Gen. Uche, in a session preceding the Mass emphasized that true nobility is not defined by status but by selfless dedication, moral integrity, and unwavering faith.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAdvancement in this noble order is based on merit, not emotion. It requires sacrifice, loyalty, and a lifestyle that reflects Christ\u2019s example,\u201d he charged.<\/p>\n<p>He urged the knights to embody virtues of humility, generosity, and compassion, stressing the importance of impacting their local churches and communities positively.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour life should be a testimony of service and leadership. You must distinguish yourselves in serving God and humanity,\u201d Uche stated.<\/p>\n<p>The president also condemned moral compromise, encouraging members to uphold righteousness in every aspect of their lives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou must lead with integrity, reject dishonor, and reflect God\u2019s grace in your actions,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Gen. Uche reminding the knights that their calling demands responsibility, sacrifice, and unwavering faith, urged them to remain steadfast in living out the values of their sacred commitment.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in an interview, the Secretary, Abuja Grand Media Committee, Sir Alebode Isedu underscored the significance of nobility as a lifelong commitment to service, truth, and faith.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAttaining the noble degree is not just a title; it signifies living with integrity, serving the Church, humanity, and working towards our salvation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the role of the knights in defending the Church, as highlighted by the Archbishop during the event, Sir Isedu stressed the importance of standing up for the truth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe fight the enemies of the Church by always telling the truth, no matter the cost. We must remain prayerful, devoted, and committed\u2014attending Mass, praying the Rosary, and fulfilling our obligations faithfully,\u201d he charged.<\/p>\n<p>Achieving the highest rank, according to the Commander, comes with a responsibility to live a life marked by virtue and discipline.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not a one-off achievement. Nobility must reflect in our actions every day\u2014through faith, hope, and charity.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are called to serve the Church, our country, and God, offering our time, treasure, and talent,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>To those aspiring to rise within the KSJI, the Commander offered clear advice: \u201cBe noble in all you do.
