{"id":61648,"date":"2025-02-21T11:19:43","date_gmt":"2025-02-21T11:19:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=61648"},"modified":"2025-02-21T11:19:43","modified_gmt":"2025-02-21T11:19:43","slug":"abuja-to-face-seven-hour-power-outage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/02\/21\/abuja-to-face-seven-hour-power-outage\/","title":{"rendered":"Abuja to Face Seven-Hour Power Outage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Ifeoluwa Odunayo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled power outage in parts of Abuja to facilitate annual preventive maintenance on two transformers at the Apo 132\/33kV Transmission Substation.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on Friday, TCN\u2019s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, confirmed that the maintenance will take place on Saturday, February 22, and Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.<\/p>\n<p>The outage will affect different areas on both days. On Saturday, impacted locations will include the National Hospital, G2 Injection Station, Garki, Area 1, and Asokoro.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, power will be interrupted in Apo Legislative Quarters, Apo Resettlement, Gudu, and Apo Mechanic Village.<\/p>\n<p>TCN explained that the maintenance is essential, as the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company will be unable to receive bulk power supply from the affected transformers during the process.<\/p>\n<p>The company assured residents that power supply would be restored promptly after the maintenance and apologized for any inconvenience caused.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Ifeoluwa Odunayo The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled power outage in parts of Abuja to facilitate annual preventive maintenance on two transformers at the Apo 132\/33kV Transmission Substation.
