{"id":61555,"date":"2025-02-19T14:24:32","date_gmt":"2025-02-19T14:24:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=61555"},"modified":"2025-02-19T14:24:32","modified_gmt":"2025-02-19T14:24:32","slug":"aedc-blames-vandalism-for-power-outage-in-parts-of-abuja","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/02\/19\/aedc-blames-vandalism-for-power-outage-in-parts-of-abuja\/","title":{"rendered":"AEDC Blames Vandalism for Power Outage in Parts of Abuja"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Emmanuel Ogbodo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has confirmed a power outage affecting several parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), attributing the disruption to the vandalization of conductors on the 132-kilovolt (KV) Katampe-Central Area Transmission Station Lines 1 and 2.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued on Wednesday, AEDC said the vandalism has plunged key areas\u2014including Wuye, Utako, Jabi District, Wuse Zones 1-7, Areas 1, 2, 3, 7, and 8, Maitama, parts of the Central Business District (CBD), Durumi, and surrounding neighborhoods\u2014into darkness.<\/p>\n<p>The company expressed regret over the inconvenience and assured customers that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is working to restore power.
