{"id":61260,"date":"2025-02-14T18:27:23","date_gmt":"2025-02-14T18:27:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=61260"},"modified":"2025-02-14T18:27:23","modified_gmt":"2025-02-14T18:27:23","slug":"ataca-gets-new-leadership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/02\/14\/ataca-gets-new-leadership\/","title":{"rendered":"ATACA Gets New Leadership"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Ade Iyamoye\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Abuja Transport and Aviation Correspondents Association (ATACA), has elected new executives to lead the association from 2025 to 2027.<\/p>\n<p>In a keenly contested election on February 12, 2025, Ejike Ejike emerged as chairman after defeating Jude Idu by 18 to 7 votes.<\/p>\n<p>Francisca Ogar was elected vice chairman, also securing an 18 to 7 victory over Gabriel Agbeja.<\/p>\n<p>Other elected officers include Tyavzua Saanyol as general secretary, Nnaemeka Ihenacho as assistant secretary, and Adeola Akinbobola as treasurer.<\/p>\n<p>Joke Falaju, Chidi Ugwu, and Kasim Sumaina retained their positions as financial secretary, welfare secretary, and public relations officer, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>In his acceptance speech, Ejike pledged to harness members&#8217; potential to strengthen ATACA and improve welfare, equity, and justice within the association.<\/p>\n<p>Outgoing chairman Oru Leonard urged members to remain united and uphold professional journalism in the aviation, marine, and transportation sectors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Ade Iyamoye\u00a0 The Abuja Transport and Aviation Correspondents Association (ATACA), has elected new executives to lead the association from 2025 to 2027.
