Chris Odey emphasized that the event is more than just a race, aiming to promote philanthropy, community impact, and solidarity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis marathon unites NGOs, corporate bodies, and citizens to support the less privileged while fostering unity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The event, expected to draw over 1,000 attendees, will feature entertainment, exhibitions, networking, and a Mixed-Gender Novelty Football Match between Abuja Charity Marathon Ambassadors and NUJ Abuja Chapter members.<\/p>\n<p>Odey thanked sponsors, including the National Sports Commission and the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, while unveiling marathon ambassadors such as &#8216;Inside Abuja Media&#8217; Chairman Dr. Charles Orifia, broadcaster Sydney Jack, comedian MC Bob, and musician Baba 20\/10.<\/p>\n<p>Celebrities and NGOs have also pledged their support for the event.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Emmanuel Ogbodo The inaugural Abuja Charity Marathon is set for Saturday, April 19, 2025, with 500 athletes participating.
