Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has issued a stern warning to officers against abuse of power and unprofessional dressing while on duty.<\/p>\n
During a virtual meeting with senior police managers nationwide, Egbetokun emphasized that any officer found violating human rights or engaging in misconduct would face strict disciplinary action.<\/p>\n
He also expressed concern over reports of excessive force and improper conduct within the Force.<\/p>\n
The IGP specifically cautioned tactical squads against carrying assault rifles while dressed in civilian attire, stating that such practices violate standard procedures and create public distrust.<\/p>\n
He reiterated that all officers must adhere to the approved dress code and maintain professionalism in their operations.<\/p>\n
Additionally, Egbetokun ordered that no case should be transferred without his written approval, a move aimed at curbing unnecessary delays and ensuring fairness in case management.<\/p>\n
