{"id":60755,"date":"2025-02-07T17:18:16","date_gmt":"2025-02-07T17:18:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=60755"},"modified":"2025-02-07T17:32:24","modified_gmt":"2025-02-07T17:32:24","slug":"fcta-approves-%e2%82%a620-5-billion-for-power-security-infrastructure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/02\/07\/fcta-approves-%e2%82%a620-5-billion-for-power-security-infrastructure\/","title":{"rendered":"FCTA Approves \u20a620.5 Billion for Power, Security, Infrastructure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Gabriella Ogbu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), has approved \u20a620.5 billion for key infrastructure projects aimed at improving security, power supply, and public services in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>The approval was granted during the first Executive Committee meeting of the year, chaired by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.<\/p>\n<p>The projects include a \u20a63 billion 33KVA power supply line from Dawaki to Bwari and solar street lighting along Arab Road and Kubwa\u2019s U-shaped road, expected to be completed in six months.<\/p>\n<p>To enhance security, \u20a63.648 billion has been allocated for the construction of three new police divisional headquarters and staff quarters in Kuje, Gwagwalada, and Kwali, ensuring each of the six Area Councils has two police divisions.<\/p>\n<p>The administration also approved two magistrate courts in Asokoro and Garki, valued at \u20a67.6 billion and \u20a66.3 billion, respectively, with completion timelines of 15 to 18 months.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, multi-event sports centers will be built within 12 months.<\/p>\n<p>To safeguard assets, the FCTA has adopted an all-risk insurance policy for its movable and immovable properties, aligning with federal directives.<\/p>\n<p>These initiatives reflect President Bola Tinubu\u2019s Renewed Hope Agenda, reinforcing the administration\u2019s commitment to infrastructure and service delivery in the FCT.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Gabriella Ogbu The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), has approved \u20a620.5 billion for key infrastructure projects aimed at improving security, power supply, and public services in Abuja.
