{"id":60266,"date":"2025-01-31T11:07:41","date_gmt":"2025-01-31T11:07:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=60266"},"modified":"2025-01-31T11:07:41","modified_gmt":"2025-01-31T11:07:41","slug":"tragedy-as-vehicle-rams-into-soldiers-during-morning-drill-in-lagos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/01\/31\/tragedy-as-vehicle-rams-into-soldiers-during-morning-drill-in-lagos\/","title":{"rendered":"Tragedy as Vehicle Rams Into Soldiers During Morning Drill in Lagos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Patrick Idowu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At least 20 soldiers sustained serious injuries after a speeding vehicle plowed into them during a morning drill outside Myoung Barracks in Yaba, Lagos, on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Eyewitnesses reported that the car, carrying three occupants, appeared to have lost control before crashing into the marching soldiers.<\/p>\n<p>A source at the barracks suggested that the driver may have dozed off at the wheel.<\/p>\n<p>Following the incident, one of the occupants fled, while the remaining two were severely beaten by enraged soldiers.<\/p>\n<p>A damaged Toyota vehicle was later seen parked inside the barracks as soldiers gathered in hushed discussions.<\/p>\n<p>The injured soldiers are currently receiving treatment at the military hospital within the barracks. Some were seen limping outside the hospital as uniformed personnel stood by.<\/p>\n<p>It remains unconfirmed whether any fatalities occurred.
