Emma Raducanu MBE is a British professional tennis player. She reached a career-high ranking of No. 10 by the Women’s Tennis Association on 11 July 2022, and is a former British No. 1. Raducanu is the first British woman to win a Grand Slam singles title since Virginia Wade at the 1977 Wimbledon Championships<\/p>\n
She has not played for a while now due to wrists and ankle surgery which happened on April; Brit pulls out of December exhibition in Macau; Raducanu has stepped up her training in recent weeks at the National Tennis Centre in London<\/p>\n
Raducanu is undergoing operations on her wrists and ankle and has dropped to 289 in the rankings, Her last match was a straight-sets defeat to Jelena Ostapenko at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart in April.<\/p>\n
But she has stepped up her training in recent weeks at the National Tennis Centre in London both in the gym and on court, and spoke last month of her enthusiasm for returning to the circuit.<\/p>\n
Raducanu remains without a coach having split from Sebastian Sachs at the beginning of June and is currently working with Lawn Tennis Association staff.<\/p>\n
“I think the biggest thing from the last few months was how much I missed the sport,” she told BBC Radio 4.<\/p>\n
“I think that was the standout thing – how much I missed training, how much I missed my body hurting and feeling tired and dragging yourself through certain exercises when you don’t feel like it.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
