{"id":60104,"date":"2025-01-29T10:14:44","date_gmt":"2025-01-29T10:14:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=60104"},"modified":"2025-01-29T21:46:23","modified_gmt":"2025-01-29T21:46:23","slug":"abuja-resident-found-dead-in-niger-state-after-abduction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/01\/29\/abuja-resident-found-dead-in-niger-state-after-abduction\/","title":{"rendered":"Abuja Resident Found Dead in Niger State After Abduction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Patrick Idowu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Esther Adesiyan, one of five residents abducted from Chikakore community in Kubwa, Abuja, has been found dead in a bush near Itagbajii, Niger State.<\/p>\n<p>Her body was discovered a few days after the abduction of her family and a neighbour working at a poultry farm.<\/p>\n<p>Esther, her husband, their son, a family member, and the poultry worker were taken at gunpoint from their home in the early hours of Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The wife of the poultry worker was injured and later treated at Kubwa General Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>FCT Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh confirmed the abduction, stating that a rescue operation was underway.<\/p>\n<p>The body of Esther was identified by a co-worker, who accompanied police to Niger State.<\/p>\n<p>He reported that Esther appeared to have been shot by her captors after being unable to continue the arduous journey through the bush.<\/p>\n<p>The FCT Police Command is yet to comment on the recovery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Patrick Idowu Esther Adesiyan, one of five residents abducted from Chikakore community in Kubwa, Abuja, has been found dead in a bush near Itagbajii, Niger State.
