Before Christianity and Islam, we had Ifa, and it remains authentic,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nThe former president decried the diminishing value of Yoruba culture, particularly its language, food, and traditions, urging people to guard against its erosion.<br \/>\n\u201cWe must not joke with our culture. Yoruba is not vernacular; it is authentic,\u201d he asserted.<br \/>\nObasanjo commended renowned female talking drummer, Ara, for breaking cultural taboos, such as women playing the talking drum, and excelling in her craft.<br \/>\n\u201cAra has broken the taboo and done it very well.
