{"id":59950,"date":"2025-01-26T09:49:41","date_gmt":"2025-01-26T09:49:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=59950"},"modified":"2025-01-26T09:49:41","modified_gmt":"2025-01-26T09:49:41","slug":"kano-signs-15m-deal-on-customized-gas-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/01\/26\/kano-signs-15m-deal-on-customized-gas-programme\/","title":{"rendered":"Kano Signs $15m Deal on Customized Gas Programme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Patrick Idowu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kano State Investment Promotion Agency (KANINVEST), has signed a $15 million Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with STATA Power Utility Nigeria Limited to implement a customized gas programme in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during the signing ceremony at KANINVEST headquarters in Kano, the agency&#8217;s Director General, Muhammad Nazir Halliru, described the agreement as a significant step towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions, fostering a cleaner environment, and creating job opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>The programme will supply compressed natural gas (CNG), and convert vehicles from petroleum to gas.<\/p>\n<p>Halliru emphasized its potential to address challenges related to rising petroleum costs and transportation in Kano, while also extending CNG supply to industries to enhance productivity and services.<\/p>\n<p>Implementation is expected to commence within six months, following the establishment of gas stations in the state.<\/p>\n<p>STATA Power Utility CEO, Salman Dantata, highlighted the project&#8217;s alignment with global cleaner energy trends, aiming to lower transportation costs, boost industrialization, and improve environmental sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>Dantata revealed that STATA plans to invest up to $15 million over the next two years, including the deployment of LCNG stations.<\/p>\n<p>Within the next year, the company will introduce 5,000 solar-powered tricycles and 10 motor vehicles for commercial use in Kano.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Patrick Idowu Kano State Investment Promotion Agency (KANINVEST), has signed a $15 million Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with STATA Power Utility Nigeria Limited to implement a customized gas programme in the state.
