{"id":59509,"date":"2025-01-12T23:21:33","date_gmt":"2025-01-12T23:21:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=59509"},"modified":"2025-01-12T23:21:33","modified_gmt":"2025-01-12T23:21:33","slug":"saburi-residents-applaud-wikes-developmental-strides","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/01\/12\/saburi-residents-applaud-wikes-developmental-strides\/","title":{"rendered":"Saburi Residents Applaud Wike\u2019s Developmental Strides"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Alexis Uchendu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Residents of Saburi in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), have commended FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for spearheading key infrastructure projects, including the construction of a major access road and the approval of a new police station and hospital.<br \/>\nThe once-dilapidated road, which posed security and economic challenges, has now been transformed, significantly improving residents&#8217; lives.<br \/>\nThe 5-kilometer access road, inaugurated by Wike on January 21 last year, connects Saburi 1 and 2 to the Dei Dei International Market and links the community to the Murtala Mohammed Expressway.<br \/>\nThe development has been a game-changer, particularly during the rainy season, offering long-awaited relief.<br \/>\nVillage Head Alhaji Muhammad Yamawo described the project as life-changing, stating: \u201cWe have suffered for years due to the poor road, but Wike has finally wiped our tears.\u201d<br \/>\nLocal businesses are also reaping the benefits. Shop owner Emmanuel Ogboh credited the improved road for increased customer traffic, while bean cake seller Justina Ocheche noted better hygiene conditions and rising patronage.<br \/>\n\u201cThere\u2019s no more dust or mud. People now move freely, and our sales have significantly increased,\u201d Ocheche added, urging authorities to ensure stable electricity for a consistent water supply.<br \/>\nFurniture maker Nicholas Emmanuel and car wash owner Akin Akinwande echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the positive impact on their trades.<br \/>\nTruck driver Emeka Oduma, a decade-long resident, praised Wike\u2019s efforts, saying: \u201cI am happy, and everyone in Saburi is happy with what the minister has done.\u201d<br \/>\nResidents, while grateful, have urged Wike to sustain the momentum and extend similar developmental projects across the FCT.<br \/>\nThe transformation in Saburi has renewed hope for further infrastructural advancements under his leadership.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Alexis Uchendu Residents of Saburi in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), have commended FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for spearheading key infrastructure projects, including the construction of a major access road and the approval of a new police station and hospital.
