{"id":59450,"date":"2025-01-12T06:35:05","date_gmt":"2025-01-12T06:35:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=59450"},"modified":"2025-01-12T06:35:05","modified_gmt":"2025-01-12T06:35:05","slug":"unity-key-to-overcoming-northern-challenges-ibb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/01\/12\/unity-key-to-overcoming-northern-challenges-ibb\/","title":{"rendered":"Unity Key to Overcoming Northern Challenges \u2013IBB"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Our Correspondent\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB), has emphasized that unity remains the only path for Northern Nigeria to overcome its numerous challenges, particularly insecurity.<\/p>\n<p>He made this assertion when he received officials of the Northern Star Youth Empowerment Initiative (NSYEI), at his residence in Minna, Niger State.<\/p>\n<p>The delegation was led by the movement\u2019s Board of Trustees Chairman, former Sokoto State governor Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa, alongside Co-Chairperson Hajia Naja\u2019atu Mohammed and Director-General Dr Abdullahi Idris.<\/p>\n<p>Commending the initiative, Babangida described the birth of the Northern Star movement as timely and commendable, urging its leaders to remain steadfast in their mission to unite the North and Nigeria at large.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnly through unity can the North surmount its challenges.
