{"id":59372,"date":"2025-01-10T15:34:39","date_gmt":"2025-01-10T15:34:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=59372"},"modified":"2025-01-10T16:05:46","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T16:05:46","slug":"fct-road-constructions-not-development-dalung-slams-wike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/01\/10\/fct-road-constructions-not-development-dalung-slams-wike\/","title":{"rendered":"Dalung Faults Wike&#8217;s Projects in Abuja"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Patrick Idowu\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Former Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, has criticized the infrastructural projects championed by FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, dismissing road constructions as a misleading measure of development.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on Arise TV\u2019s The Morning Show on Friday, Dalung also took a swipe at Senate President Godswill Akpabio\u2019s claim that Abuja now looks like London, stating that his own area in the FCT does not reflect such an image.<\/p>\n<p>Dalung argued that true development should focus on essential services like water supply, education, and healthcare, which remain inadequate in the FCT.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s unfair to celebrate road constructions in a city where residents rely on boreholes, schools are in disarray, and hospitals function like transit camps,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He further emphasized that road projects do not impact the lives of ordinary Nigerians.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow many poor Nigerians own cars?
