{"id":59289,"date":"2025-01-09T16:05:45","date_gmt":"2025-01-09T16:05:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=59289"},"modified":"2025-01-09T16:05:45","modified_gmt":"2025-01-09T16:05:45","slug":"lagos-teacher-denies-assault-charges-granted-bail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/01\/09\/lagos-teacher-denies-assault-charges-granted-bail\/","title":{"rendered":"Lagos Teacher Denies Assault Charges, Granted Bail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Adenike Lawal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A Lagos teacher, Stella Nwadigbo, has pleaded not guilty to assault charges after allegedly striking a three-year-old student at Christ Mitot School, Ikorodu.<\/p>\n<p>Appearing before the Ikeja Chief Magistrates\u2019 Court, Nwadigbo was charged with grievous bodily harm by the Lagos State Police Command, following a viral video of the alleged incident on January 7.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutor ASP Raji Akeem told the court that the footage showed Nwadigbo hitting the child while attempting to teach him numbers, raising concerns over teacher conduct and child safety.<\/p>\n<p>Charged under Sections 135 and 172 of the Lagos State Criminal Law (2015), Nwadigbo was granted \u20a6200,000 bail by Chief Magistrate O.
