The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Police Command has confirmed that two people died in a suspected bomb explosion at Tsangagyar Sani Uthman Islamiyya School, Kuchibuyi Village, Byazhin, FCT.<\/p>\n

According to a statement by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the command received a distress call from the Sarki of Kuchibuyi and immediately deployed a team, including its Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit and the Area Commander of Kubwa.<\/p>\n

The area was cordoned off to ensure public safety and facilitate investigations.<\/p>\n

Preliminary findings revealed that three men from Katsina, suspected to be in possession of an improvised explosive device, visited the school\u2019s owner, Mallam Adamu Ashimu.<\/p>\n

Two of them died while handling the explosive on the school veranda, while the third man and a female trader sustained severe injuries and are receiving medical attention under police guard.<\/p>\n

The statement confirmed that the FCT Bomb Squad had identified the explosion as being caused by an improvised explosive device, with remnants of the device recovered.<\/p>\n

The police have taken the school owner into custody for questioning, with further updates to be provided.<\/p>\n

FCT Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or objects resembling explosives.<\/p>\n

He also emphasized the importance of prompt reporting and advised residents to stay alert, avoid touching suspicious objects, keep emergency contacts accessible, and work together to enhance community security.<\/p>\n

It is important however to have handy these emergency contacts for reporting incidents: 0806 158 1938, 0803 200 3913, 0802 894 0883, 0705 733 7653. Also the Complaints Response Unit, 0810 731 4192 and 0902 222 2352 are very useful.<\/p>\n
