Nobody was forced to leave.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Similar exercises have taken place in the past to address career stagnation and optimize manpower requirements,&#8221; Bello stated.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the restructuring was initiated due to requests from senior staff who felt their career progression was limited.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative was later extended to all categories of staff based on popular demand.<\/p>\n<p>Bello further revealed that some of the departing staff were planning to establish their own banks, highlighting the positive opportunities the program provided.<\/p>\n<p>The House of Representatives had earlier called for a suspension of the \u201cplanned\u201d retirement and set up an ad hoc committee to review its legality.<\/p>\n<p>Committee Chairman Usman Kumo assured that the investigation would be fair to all parties.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Our Correspondent\u00a0 The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso, has reiterated that the recent exit of 1,000 staff from the bank was entirely voluntary.
