But in this case, PDP let go of Wike without asking for a transfer fee,\u201d Oshiomhole said.<\/p>\n<p>The former Edo State governor noted that Wike, a PDP stalwart, played a crucial role in supporting President Bola Tinubu\u2019s candidacy in the 2023 general election despite belonging to the opposition party.<\/p>\n<p>Oshiomhole commended Wike\u2019s leadership in the FCT, saying his role requires making tough decisions and enforcing laws for the city\u2019s development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe may not be willing to return you, and if necessary, we would even create a toll gate to prevent that,\u201d he quipped.<\/p>\n<p>He further lauded Wike\u2019s efforts in transforming the capital city, emphasizing the need for discipline, rule of law, and urban renewal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Ade Iyamoye\u00a0 Senator Adams Oshiomhole has likened the appointment of Nyesom Wike as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to a football club losing its star player to a rival without a transfer fee.
