{"id":58766,"date":"2024-12-31T19:51:26","date_gmt":"2024-12-31T19:51:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=58766"},"modified":"2024-12-31T19:51:26","modified_gmt":"2024-12-31T19:51:26","slug":"aiyedatiwa-approves-completion-of-50-road-projects-across-lgas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2024\/12\/31\/aiyedatiwa-approves-completion-of-50-road-projects-across-lgas\/","title":{"rendered":"Aiyedatiwa Approves Completion of 50 Road Projects Across LGAs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Adenike Lawal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved the completion of 50 township road projects across the state\u2019s 18 local government areas, fulfilling his campaign promise to enhance road infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>The projects, covering asphalt overlays, reconstruction, and rehabilitation, are funded under the governor\u2019s infrastructure development plan.<\/p>\n<p>Ayoade Babalola, Special Adviser on Infrastructure, disclosed this during a press briefing in Akure, highlighting the administration\u2019s focus on improving transportation, fostering economic growth, and enhancing residents&#8217; quality of life.<\/p>\n<p>Since August 2024, contracts for 60 kilometers of road projects have been awarded, with key locations including Akure, Ondo, Owo, Ikare Akoko, Okitipupa, Ilaje, and Idanre.<\/p>\n<p>Major projects such as a flyover and junction upgrades along the Ilesha-Akure-Owo Expressway and dual carriageway developments are underway.<\/p>\n<p>The N433 billion allocated for capital expenditure in the 2025 budget, representing 62.06% of total spending, underscores Aiyedatiwa\u2019s commitment to positioning Ondo as an infrastructural hub.<\/p>\n<p>Plans are also in place for the second phase of the Operation Zero Pothole Project, to be executed through direct labor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Adenike Lawal Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved the completion of 50 township road projects across the state\u2019s 18 local government areas, fulfilling his campaign promise to enhance road infrastructure.
