Nigeria is on the brink of a severe hunger crisis, with projections indicating that 33.1 million people could face acute food insecurity by 2025.<\/p>\n

This alarming forecast highlights the compounded effects of economic hardship, climate change, and escalating violence, all of which threaten the nation\u2019s stability and future.<\/p>\n

According to the World Food Programme (WFP), the number of Nigerians at risk of hunger has surged due to worsening economic conditions and climatic shocks.<\/p>\n

The removal of fuel subsidies and the devaluation of the naira have resulted in record-high inflation, significantly reducing household purchasing power.<\/p>\n

Essential food staples have become increasingly unaffordable for millions of Nigerians.<\/p>\n

A Reuters report emphasized the devastating impact of these economic measures, noting that families across the nation struggle to afford daily meals.<\/p>\n

The situation is further exacerbated by climate change. Nigeria has experienced unprecedented flooding, which has destroyed over 1.5 million hectares of farmland.<\/p>\n

The Global Hunger Index (GHI) ranks Nigeria 103rd out of 125 countries, categorizing its hunger level as “serious.”<\/p>\n
