{"id":58624,"date":"2024-12-29T07:58:11","date_gmt":"2024-12-29T07:58:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=58624"},"modified":"2024-12-29T07:58:11","modified_gmt":"2024-12-29T07:58:11","slug":"28-states-yet-to-sign-2025-budgets-as-fiscal-year-nears-end","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2024\/12\/29\/28-states-yet-to-sign-2025-budgets-as-fiscal-year-nears-end\/","title":{"rendered":"28 States Yet to Sign 2025 Budgets as Fiscal Year Nears End"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Alexis Uchendu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With just two days remaining in 2024, 28 Nigerian states and the federal government have yet to finalize and sign their 2025 budgets.<\/p>\n<p>Only eight states: Abia, Sokoto, Kaduna, Katsina, Anambra, Edo, Bauchi, and Enugu have enacted their appropriation bills ahead of the new fiscal year.<\/p>\n<p>Enugu leads with the highest state budget at \u20a6971 billion, followed by Kaduna with \u20a6790 billion and Abia with \u20a6750.2 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Other approved budgets include Katsina (\u20a6692.2 billion), Edo (\u20a6675 billion), Anambra (\u20a6606 billion), Sokoto (\u20a6526 billion), and Bauchi (\u20a6467 billion).<\/p>\n<p>At the federal level, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu presented the \u20a649.7 trillion 2025 budget to the National Assembly on December 18, 2024.
