{"id":58549,"date":"2024-12-27T12:33:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-27T12:33:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=58549"},"modified":"2024-12-27T12:33:00","modified_gmt":"2024-12-27T12:33:00","slug":"akwa-ibom-chief-judge-warns-new-chief-registrar-against-gossip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2024\/12\/27\/akwa-ibom-chief-judge-warns-new-chief-registrar-against-gossip\/","title":{"rendered":"Akwa Ibom Chief Judge Warns New Chief Registrar Against Gossip"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Gabriella Ogbu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State, Justice Ekaete Fabian-Obot, has advised the newly appointed Chief Registrar, Affiong Usimkah, to prioritize diligence and integrity while avoiding office gossip.<\/p>\n<p>Usimkah, appointed on December 23, 2024, succeeds Winifred Umohandi in the role.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on Friday in Uyo, Justice Fabian-Obot commended Usimkah for her humility, grace, and strong work ethic, qualities that distinguished her during the rigorous selection process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn her, I found humility and grace, combined with the potential for hard work,\u201d the Chief Judge remarked.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Fabian-Obot urged Usimkah to seek guidance from her predecessor and to report administrative issues directly to her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou must not listen to unnecessary gossip,\u201d she cautioned, while advising Usimkah to remain attentive and cautious in her duties.<\/p>\n<p>Reflecting on the transition, the Chief Judge expressed nostalgia for the outgoing registrar, describing her tenure as \u201cglorious.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Born on December 9, 1979, in Mbo Local Government Area, Usimkah holds a law degree from the University of Uyo.<\/p>\n<p>She was called to the Bar in 2005 and began her judicial career in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Rising steadily through the ranks, she served as Chief Magistrate at the Abak Chief Magistrate\u2019s Court before her recent appointment as Chief Registrar.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Gabriella Ogbu The Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State, Justice Ekaete Fabian-Obot, has advised the newly appointed Chief Registrar, Affiong Usimkah, to prioritize diligence and integrity while avoiding office gossip.
