{"id":58444,"date":"2024-12-25T05:31:20","date_gmt":"2024-12-25T05:31:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=58444"},"modified":"2024-12-25T05:31:20","modified_gmt":"2024-12-25T05:31:20","slug":"marian-soup-kitchen-spreads-christmas-cheer-to-over-500-families","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2024\/12\/25\/marian-soup-kitchen-spreads-christmas-cheer-to-over-500-families\/","title":{"rendered":"Marian Soup Kitchen Spreads Christmas Cheer to Over 500 Families"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Ade Iyamoye\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Over 500 widows and underprivileged women in Abuja received a generous gift of food this Christmas, thanks to the Marian Soup Kitchen (MSK), a charitable initiative founded 13 years ago by the late Father William Ojukwu.<\/p>\n<p>The program, held on December 24, distributed 10 kg of rice to brighten the festive season for struggling households.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the event, Mr. Austin Ijere, a member of MSK\u2019s Board of Trustees, emphasized the organization\u2019s commitment to uplifting the needy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Every year, we ensure widows and the less privileged can celebrate Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Despite the economic challenges, this is our way of encouraging them and honoring the legacy of Father Ojukwu,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>The distribution, carried out at the MSK Center, was supported by volunteers and law enforcement, ensuring order and safety throughout the process.<\/p>\n<p>Beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation for the gesture.
