Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media to Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Minister Nyesom Wike, has dismissed claims that the Minister is managing the FCTA with a religious bias.<\/p>\n
This comes in response to comments by Prof. Ishaq Akintola, Director of the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), over the suspension of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Executive Secretary, Engr. Shehu Ahmad Hadi.<\/p>\n
Olayinka criticized Akintola for allegedly using religion to shield the suspension, stating that Hadi\u2019s position was not a religious appointment but a professional one.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that the Minister is committed to ensuring efficient governance and is not obligated to publicly disclose reasons for suspensions.<\/p>\n
“Engr. Shehu Ahmad Hadi knows why he was suspended.<\/p>\n
“The position of FCDA Executive Secretary is not a chieftaincy title, and the office continues to function seamlessly,” Olayinka noted.<\/p>\n
The aide urged Akintola to avoid stirring religious discord and instead focus on the propagation of Islam.<\/p>\n
He cited a teaching of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) on obedience to authority, urging Akintola to counsel Hadi to accept the decision rather than incite controversy.<\/p>\n
“Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), instructed Muslims to listen and obey their leaders even in adversity and displeasure. If Akintola follows this teaching, he would advocate acceptance and unity instead of fueling unnecessary religious tension,” Olayinka added.<\/p>\n
