{"id":58264,"date":"2024-12-20T16:33:20","date_gmt":"2024-12-20T16:33:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=58264"},"modified":"2024-12-20T16:33:20","modified_gmt":"2024-12-20T16:33:20","slug":"wike-issues-final-deadline-for-abuja-landowners-to-pay-c-of-o-fees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2024\/12\/20\/wike-issues-final-deadline-for-abuja-landowners-to-pay-c-of-o-fees\/","title":{"rendered":"Wike Issues Final Deadline for Abuja Landowners to Pay C-of-O Fees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Alexis Uchendu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has issued a two-week ultimatum for owners of 762 plots in Maitama II District, Abuja, to settle outstanding Certificates of Occupancy (C-of-O), fees or face permanent revocation of their land titles.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline is set for January 3, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on Friday, Wike\u2019s media aide, Lere Olayinka, clarified that the goal is to ensure compliance, not revoke land titles.<\/p>\n<p>This follows the publication of a list of 3,273 defaulters on October 5, 2024, of which 2,511 complied, leaving 762 in default.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNotices of withdrawal of R-of-O titles for the 762 defaulters were published.
